In fact, in April, the Kovid Relief Fund of Rs 2.77 crore fixed for 463 families living in Yamaguchi province of Japan was mistakenly transferred to the account of a 24-year-old man. This error occurred due to a formatting error.
But by the time the authority realized its mistake and reached to recover the money, it was discovered that both the man and the money had disappeared. After this, the authorities apologized to all the 463 families, who were going to get a share of this amount.
The administration found it but the person disappeared again
13 days later, on 21 April, when the administration finally traced the man, he told that all the money had disappeared and nothing could be done for it. The authority could not do anything on this reply as the person did not commit theft legally and the money was transferred to his account by mistake.
Eventually the authorities filed a court case against the man on May 12, but by the time the verdict came, the man had disappeared after leaving the house with all the money.
